The haywire Cardiff City player ratings as first-half errors prove costly at QPR

Alex Smithies 6

Made an incredible save to deny Albert Adomah early doors, none of the goals his fault really. A decent outing from the keeper.

Leandro Bacuna 4

Was too soft for the second goal, shrugged off by Osayi-Samuel. Positional play is just not there and you can't blame him really as it's not his position. Booked.

Sean Morrison 6

Couldn't really have done a lot with any of the goals, actually did a good job at keeping the QPR attack at bay from a number of crosses.

Curtis Nelson 6

Probably the pick of the defenders for the most part. Was a top display, especially aerially, from the centre back. Perhaps could have closed down the last goal quicker.

Joe Bennett 5

Was sold an huge dummy by Adomah for the first goal, allowing him to cross. Misplaced a few passes early on but looked more comfortable later on.

Marlon Pack 7 (star man)

The only player who was looking to move the ball about and try to gather some semblance of organisation. Cut his head going for a ball bravely. Covered every blade of grass.

Will Vaulks 4

A sub-par performance from the midfielder. Struggled to get any rhythm with the ball at his feet and was skinned far too easily for the second goal. Hooked at half-time.

Joe Ralls 5

Another quiet display from the midfielder, but scored the two goals! One from the penalty and the other a follow-up, far better when he dropped back second half and spread some nice passes.

Josh Murphy 6

Struggled out on the left in the first half but looked far more dangerous when put through the middle. Slotted through the ball which led to the penalty.

Kieffer Moore 6

Battled away and won a fair few aerial duels, as expected. Cut a frustrated figure in the first half but grew into it as the game opened up. Won the penalty with a strong run.

Sheyi Ojo 6

Not as effective as the previous few games but still showed us a few flashes. Fashioned one chance for himself but miscued it wide.

Subs

Junior Hoilett (on for Vaulks 45) 6

After a run of poor form, he actually looked pretty bright and lively when he came on. A nice cameo.

Lee Tomlin (on for Murphy 67) 6

Had one real chance when he whipped a lovely effort at the top corner, but it was narrowly wide. Booked.

Mark Harris (on for Bacuna 90) NA
