The Haven raise over £36,000 at the Glasgow Kilt Walk

Members of Team Haven pounded the streets of Glasgow recently and raised over £36,000 for the charity.

And the Haven – with centres in Blantyre, Forth and Wishaw – were delighted to announce that the 2019 Glasgow Kilt Walk is their most successful to date.

The charity have been taking teams to the Kilt Walk since 2016, and the team have praised the support and generosity of the Lanarkshire public.

Now the funds will go directly to helping local families who are facing the challenges of life-limiting illness and bereavement.

Lynsay Cooper, Haven communications officer, said: “Together, 115 walkers walked 2252 miles which is equivalent to the distance between Blantyre and Moscow!

“We would like to thank every single member of Team Haven for taking part and proudly flying The Haven flag, as well as everyone who supported them.

“Thank you for not only being part of The Haven’s history, but being a part of our future.”

The Haven is a registered charity which provides support to people affected by a range of life-limiting illness, and to their family members and carers.

To represent Team Haven at any of the remaining Kilt Walk events this year – in Aberdeen, Dundee or Edinburgh – contact their fundraising team on 01698 727505 for more details on how to get involved.
