The Harry Wilson update from Jurgen Klopp that will put Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Bournemouth on alert

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has admitted that no decision has yet been taken over the club future of Wales talent Harry Wilson.

Wilson produced a magical display in a pre-season friendly against Lyon in Geneva on Wednesday night, helping the Reds to a 3-1 win after curling a superb 25-yard left-footed strike to the back of the net.

After impressing during his loan spell at Derby County last season under Frank Lampard, Wilson has picked up interest from the likes of Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Bournemouth as the new season approaches.

Liverpool Echo report that the club are no longer keen on a loan move for the player they value at around £25million.

Speaking on Wednesday, Klopp said: "We are in constant conversation, that's clear.

"We have to do the right thing for us and for the boy. That's how it is.

"It's nothing to talk in public about it, so we will see what happens in the next eight or nine days until the window closes.

"He is obviously a really good player. I've been really happy with him all pre-season, he came back from Derby completely different.

"That's a good example of how a loan can really work out. For Derby it was really good, for Harry it was, and for us as well."

He added: "Harry did a really good job for us, scored a wonderful goal, a Harry Wilson special. That was really cool.

"We tried to set him up a little bit, so it's more comfortable for him. And when he scored the goal, it was just Harry. It was brilliant."

The Reds boss has given Wilson a number of opportunities to impress during pre-season, with the winger putting in a number of positive - and goalscoring - performances.

But with competition stiff at Anfield and Klopp understood to be looking at another wide player before the window closes, it appears increasingly likely that Wilson will leave this summer.
