The Harry Kane transfer verdict that will shock Liverpool and Manchester City fans

Former Liverpool and Tottenham midfielder Danny Murphy believes Harry Kane would be a good signing for either the Reds or Manchester City.

The England captain has ten goals at club level so far this season - and six more in four internationals - with the Spurs striker still prolific despite his side's struggle so far in the Premier League.

But with Spurs in danger of not qualifying for the Champions League next season, being 11 points behind fourth-placed Manchester City after 12 games, Murphy believes he could get into either Liverpool or City's team, should he move on from Spurs.

Speaking on Talksport, Danny Murphy said: "Liverpool or City. Would he get in both teams? Would Liverpool and Man City fans take Harry Kane now?

"I think Harry Kane would get into the Liverpool team ahead of [Roberto] Firmino because I think he would score more goals.

Pochettino's pride in Harry Kane

“I love Firmino, but he is not Harry Kane. And I think with [Sergio] Aguero nearly 32 now, I think City fans would welcome Harry Kane with open arms.

"That’s not to say he is better than Aguero, City fans won’t have that argument and it’s not about that.

“But if Harry Kane right now was on the shopping list, would City fans be happy? What would he cost? It could be a world record. But the goal record he has got is phenomenal.”
