The Harry Kane transfer verdict that will concern Tottenham fans amid Manchester United interest

Former Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp believes Harry Kane moving to Manchester United is “a possibility” amid ongoing rumours around his future.

Kane has scored 197 goals in 343 appearances for Tottenham and has been linked with a move away from the club this summer.

Those reports began to surface after Kane admitted in a chat with Jamie Redknapp that he may have to move away in order to secure silverware.

"I love Spurs, I’ll always love Spurs, but it’s one of those things I’ve always said that if I don’t feel we’re progressing as a team or going in the right direction then I’m not someone to just stay there just for the sake of it,” he said.

"I’m an ambitious player. I want to improve, I want to get better and become one of the top, top players so it all depends on how we progress as a team."

Manchester United are the one club who continue to be linked for a move to Kane this summer, and Redknapp can see the Spurs Academy graduate looking to move in the not so near future.

“I suppose it’s always a possibility,” the former Spurs boss old talkSPORT when asked if Kane could be on the move in the next 12 months

“I’d like to see him stay, but they do need to win something. It’s been a long time and you can only see them winning a cup competition.

“I really can’t see them challenging at the moment now for the Premier League, they’re not as good as they were two or three years ago, for sure.

“Two or three years back I thought there was a Premier League title to be won with that team, when they had Walker and [Danny] Rose who were absolutely flying and [Eriksen] was in great form.

“But they don’t look anywhere near that at the moment to me and I think they’re way behind Liverpool and Manchester City now. But I’m sure there’s a cup competition [they can win].

“It’s a difficult one, I’m sure [Kane] loves the club, he’s come through the youth system and it’s his team, but he’s also ambitious and I would think if it doesn’t happen this year he could possibly look to move on.

“And everybody in the world would want him, he’s a top, top player and a great guy.”
