Sydney Theatre Company premieres playwright Angela Betzien’s crime thriller, The Hanging. Recipient of the Patrick White fellowship, Betzien explores the underbelly of a privileged world, and draws on a history of lost children in the vast Australian landscape.
Two private school girls are missing in Melbourne’s hinterland. The only clue is held by 15–year–old Vivienne, who is beguiling, quick-witted and not easy to extract secrets from. The story becomes a game of cat and mouse, where everyone has something to lose. Sarah Goodes directs the haunting piece, which stars Puberty Blue’s Ashleigh Cummings, Genevieve Lemon and Luke Carroll.
