The Handmaid's Tale: Drama starring Elisabeth Moss renewed for fourth season

The Handmaid’s Tale has been renewed for a fourth season.

The dystopian series based on Margaret Atwood’s book of the same name stars Elisabeth Moss, Alexis Bledel, Joseph Fiennes, Ann Dowd and OT Fagbenie.

The events of the third series, which is currently airing in the US and on Channel 4 in the UK, has now bypassed the events of the original novel.

Atwood was recently longlisted for the Booker Prize, for her long-awaited follow-up novel to the 1985 work.

The Testaments will be published worldwide on 10 September 2019, and be set 15 years after Offred’s final scene in the book, where she is bundled into a van with her fate uncertain.

The new book will be narrated by three female characters, and be unconnected to the events of the TV series that has extended Offred’s storyline.

The Handmaid’s Tale season 3 continues on Sundays at 9pm on Channel 4
