The Halloween films on Netflix, NowTV, Amazon Prime and Disney+ to watch this weekend

Halloween is finally here and if that isn't a reason to binge watch a load of spooky movies, we don't know what is.

With the ghostly event a little different from previous years, staying in is the best option for many. And, with trick or treating off the cards, you can sneak a load of sweets for yourself.

If that's the case, you're probably wondering what Halloween offerings the streaming services have released for 2020.

Well, to make your viewing choices a bit easier, we have rounded up the Halloween films on Netflix, NowTV, Amazon Prime and Disney+ to watch this weekend.

Here's what we found:

Netflix

• Hubie Halloween

Hubie Dubois, played by Adam Sandler, thanklessly spends every Halloween making sure the residents of his hometown, Salem, celebrate safely and play by the rules.

• The Addams Family

It doesn't get more classic than this nineties movie which sees con artists plan to fleece an eccentric family using an accomplice who claims to be their long-lost uncle.

• Scream

A high school student, Sidney Prescott, becomes the target of a mysterious killer in a Halloween costume known as Ghostface.

• The Conjuring

Paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren work to help a family terrorized by a dark presence in their farmhouse.

• House of the Witch

A group of high-school kids set out to play a Halloween prank at an abandoned house, but once they enter they become victims of a demonic witch who has set her wrath upon them.

NowTV

• Coraline

This animated film sees an adventurous girl named Coraline finding an idealized parallel world behind a secret door in her new home, unaware that the alternative world contains a dark and sinister secret.

• Hocus Pocus

Another classic and much-loved film, Hocus Pocus follows a villainous comedic trio of witches who are inadvertently resurrected by a teenage boy in Salem, Massachusetts, on Halloween night.

• Casper

An afterlife therapist and his daughter meet a friendly ghost when they move into a crumbling mansion in order to rid the premises of wicked spirits.

• The Exorcist

Classic horror follows a 12-year-old girl whose mother seeks the help of two priests to save her, when she becomes possessed by a mysterious entity.

• It: Chapter Two

You may remember IT, but 27 years after their first encounter with the terrifying Pennywise, the Losers Club have grown up and moved away, until a devastating phone call brings them back.

• Psycho

Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho sees a Phoenix secretary embezzle $40,000 from her employer's client, go on the run, and check into a remote motel run by a young man under the domination of his mother.

Amazon Prime Video

• The Corpse Bride

Tim Burton's Corpse Bride is set in a fictional Victorian era village in England. When a shy groom practices his wedding vows in the presence of a deceased young woman, she rises from the grave assuming he has married her.

• The Nun

This spin-off of The Conjuring 2 follows a Roman Catholic priest and a nun as they uncover an unholy secret in 1952 Romania.

• Dark Shadows 

Another Tim Burton film follows an imprisoned vampire, Barnabas Collins, who is set free and returns to his ancestral home, where his dysfunctional descendants are in need of his protection.

• The Little Vampire 

Something a bit more family-friendly, a lonely American boy living in Scotland makes a new best friend, a fellow nine year-old who happens to be a vampire.

• The Purge

In a 12-hour period where all crime is legal known as the Purge, a wealthy family is held hostage for harboring the target of a murderous syndicate.

• The Blair Witch Project

Three film students vanish after traveling into a Maryland forest to film a documentary on the local Blair Witch legend, leaving only their footage behind.

Disney+

• The Nightmare Before Christmas

Jack Skellington, king of Halloween Town, discovers Christmas Town, but his attempts to bring Christmas to his home cause confusion.

Another classic (Liverpool ECHO)

• The Haunted Mansion

Eddie Murphy stars as a realtor who, along with his wife and children, are summoned to a mansion, which they soon discover is haunted.

• Halloweentown

Disney Channel fans will be familiar with the Halloweentown movies - a young girl living with her good-witch grandmother learns she is also a witch.

• Twitches

Another for Disney Channel fans, two teen witches who were separated at birth and adopted by different families meet on their 21st birthday and must use their powers to save the world in which they were born and where their birth mother still lives.

• Mom's Got a Date With a Vampire

Two children set their mother up with a mysterious man, not realizing he may be one of the undead.

• Z-O-M-B-I-E-S and Z-O-M-B-I-E-S 2

These two American musical releases are set around zombie football player Zed and human cheerleader Addison who meet and fall in love -but must lead their respective groups to coexist with each other.
