A "living" Christmas tree in Merseyside has been slated by residents after is was said to be "half dead".
The Christmas tree on the corner of Church Road and Hawthorne Road in Litherland, has come under scrutiny with one resident calling for it to be replaced.

"We always had one back in the day that filled you with wonderment where you'd say 'oh my god look at that tree with the manger'. You're not getting that from a six foot tree."
She continued: "It just says 'this is Litherland where there's not much money spent'. We're all on the same page, it feel to us the area is in a managed decline.
"Litherland was always nice, even where we are. It's not being kept up and the Christmas tree sums it all up. This area is a deprived area and it really upsets me what this area used to be and what it's become."
A Sefton Council spokesperson said: “The last report we had from an inspection of the tree was that it is in good condition. However, we will check it and if the tree is not up to standard, it will be replaced.”
Recently, the living Christmas tree in Birkdale came under fire, with residents comparing the tree to a "beanstalk".
Following the mounting discontent, Sefton Council confirmed it would be looking at replacing the tree in the village centre.
