The Guinness World Record Tom Cruise achieved for Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning

  • Tom Cruise has been awarded a Guinness World Record for the "most burning parachute jumps by an individual."
  • The record was achieved during the filming of Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, where Cruise jumped out of a helicopter 16 times with a fuel-soaked, burning parachute.
  • Each jump involved Cruise cutting away the burning parachute and deploying a backup, filmed in Drakensberg, South Africa, from a height of at least 7,500 ft.
  • Guinness World Records editor-in-chief Craig Glenday praised Cruise's fearlessness and commitment to authenticity.
  • Cruise also holds a Guinness World Record for the actor with the most consecutive $100-million-grossing movies, with his last 11 films achieving this milestone, and revealed he passed out during the shooting of one stunt sequence for the new film.
