The Growler becomes latest South Ayrshire restaurant hit by Covid closure

Another South Ayrshire restaurant has today closed its doors temporarily due to Covid.

The Growler, on Ayr's Beresford Terrace, is shut for "the next wee while" according to owners due to staff self-isolating.

It follows Arthur Street Kitchen, Scotts in Troon and the Fox & Willow in pulling down the shutters because of the impact of the virus.

A post on The Growler's Facebook page read: "Sadly, we too will be closed for the next wee while as some of our staff are self-isolating.

"It’s important to us that we do what we can to keep colleagues and customers safe and well.

"We’ll inform those who have booked and keep in touch regarding reopening. Stay safe all and see you soon."

Despite the easing of a number of restrictions, it continues to be a tough time for those working in the hospitality industry with confirmed cases and staff self-isolating putting pressure on venues.
