The grieving family of a Leeds man who died on the M621 need your help

The generous people of Leeds are being asked to help a woman whose partner died after he was hit by a lorry on the M621.

John Rangeley, 47, was involved in a collision with an articulated lorry, near junction 3 at around 5am on Monday, November 4.

The father-of-three from Beeston was taken to Leeds General Infirmary and he underwent emergency treatment, but was pronounced dead the following day.

His partner of 20 years Sally Bettney says she has been forced to ask for donations from kind-hearted strangers, as John was her carer and the sole provider in their household.

The 38-year-old, who is unable to work due to mental health problems, says she cannot afford to pay the mortgage without John and has had to take out a loan to pay for his funeral.

She said: "John was lovely. He was kind and would do anything for anybody that needed help. He was hard working too, ever since he left school, and he was my carer for the last 10 years.

"It could take up to two years to get to his inquest, which means I can't claim on his life insurance to pay the mortgage.

"I'm only on disability payments and still have six years of the mortgage to pay off. This house is my children's future and I can't just walk away from it.

"If anyone can share it (the gofundme page) or make a small donation, as a family we would be really appreciative."

Anyone who is prepared to help Sally can make a donation on her gofundme page .
