The Greggs Festive Bake is launching in Cardiff today and here's how to get one for free

Christmas has come early for Greggs lovers in Wales as their seasonal favourite is back.

Fans of the popular Festive Bake in Cardiff can get their hands on the pasty earlier than the rest of the UK - and there are even freebies up for grabs.

Thanks to a little competition run by Greggs, the Welsh capital competed with 20 other UK cities to be one of the five locations to get the festive favourite pastry early this Christmas.

And it's available today .

Here's the date of when Greggs festive bake hits store

The Festive Bake is being rolled out at the Queen Street store in Cardiff from 4.30pm on Monday, November 4 .

That means Welsh Greggs enthusiasts can get their hands on the coveted Christmas pasty a whole three days before the UK launch.

And if that wasn't enough, 500 Festive Bakes are being given away from the store for free.

The Festive Bake is a favourite with Greggs fans who queue round the block to get their hands on the pastry.

It's made with chicken breast, sage and onion stuffing and sweetcure bacon in a creamy sage and cranberry sauce.

The other most voted for cities which will be getting Festive Bakes early are Birmingham, Newcastle, Manchester and London.

The event will also be marked by a Greggs "superfan" from each area carrying an 'Olympic-style' Festive Bake torch.
