The Greatest Dancer star Matthew Morrison reveals 'bonding' with Cheryl over sons

Glee star Matthew Morrison has revealed he and Cheryl have “bonded” over parenting while filming BBC talent show The Greatest Dancer.

They are both “dance captains” on Simon Cowell’s new TV competition and the actor, 40, said the pair had discussed how their lives had “totally changed” since becoming parents.

Morrison married actress Renee Puente in 2014 and had his first son, Revel James Makai, in October in 2017. Cheryl, 35, has a 21-month-old son Bear with her ex-partner, One Direction star Liam Payne.

Morrison told A List: “Mostly we talk about how we are both young parents to young boys. We have been bonding over that

"Not just the sleepless nights; it is all positive. How beautiful it is to have children and how it has totally changed our lives. And how it has definitely helped us in becoming mentors for the show.”

They are joined on the judging panel by Strictly Come Dancing professional Oti Mabuse, 28.

Morrison, who played Will Schuester in Glee, said the trio had a “great connection” and insisted that the only “infighting” was over which dancers they wanted to coach.

Last month, Cheryl’s representatives were recently forced to deny a rift with Mabuse, describing it as a “fabricated story”.

The series will be hosted by Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon and street dancer Jordan Banjo and features a unique twist as the audience decide who goes through to the next round.

The Greatest Dancer begins Saturday January 5 at 8pm on BBC One.
