The Great British Bake Off: What time is it on and what is this week's theme?

The Great British Bake Off made its official return last week much to the joy of families up and down the country.

Thirteen amateur bakers - one up from the usual 12 to celebrate the series 10th birthday - descended onto the famous tent for the very first time.

But it wasn't plain sailing as cake week claimed its first victim, support worker Dan, when the wannabe star bakers were tasked with making a fruitcake, angel cake slices in the technical and first showstopper of the series - your dream cake from when you were a child.

The 32-year-old became emotional as his exit was revealed saying: "I'm not going to miss the baking under pressure. I'm just going to miss everyone in that tent."

Now we are into week two of the Channel 4 family favourite which airs at 8pm.

So, what will the bakers be whipping up this week?

Carrying on with the sweet theme, it's biscuit week and the 12 remaining bakers will need to impress judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood with decorated chocolate biscuit bars and elaborate edible 3D biscuit sculptures.

And let's not forget that showstopper that will see them tasked with making "edible masterpieces."

Expect to see Highland cow, a tortoise and a church organ this week as the bakers unleash their creative talent.
