The Great British Bake Off start date confirmed

Bake Off fans - it's almost time.

The Great British Bake Off has been given an official start day and it's VERY soon.

Viewers of the popular Channel 4 show were almost without their soggy bottom and showpiece fix this year.

The show usually starts in August and runs on Tuesday nights until the final in October.

But, although slightly delayed, it will be back and bosses have promised that it will be no different to the series we know and love.

This is because the new amateur bakers and Bake Off crew managed to create a Covid-secure space by living and filming in a bubble.

There will be a slight change though as Sandi Toksvig quit the show following the 2019 series.

Instead, Noel Fielding will be back and joined by the shows brand new addition Matt Lucas

Judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood will also be back alongside our wannabe Bake Off champs when it returns to Channel 4 on Thursday September 22 at 8pm.

New images released by Channel 4 show the 2020 judging and hosting line-up with the bakers still yet to be revealed.

A message on Twitter read: "Put a little love in your tart. Join us on Tuesday 22nd September for the return of The Great British Bake Off!"

The Great British Bake Off begins on Channel 4 on Thursday, September 22, at 8pm.
