The Graham Norton Show: Natalie Imbruglia says friend Davina McCall 'could not believe' she was Masked Singer's Panda

The Masked Singer winner Natalie Imbruglia has given an insight into her close relationship with judge Davina McCall following her victory on the show. After performing on stage under the guise of Panda for weeks, Natalie finally removed the head of her costume to reveal her true identity.

On Saturday, February 12, Natalie competed against Mark Feehily and Charlotte Church in a battle to be crowned winner. After belting out Taylor Swift's 'Blank Space', Natalie became the last one standing when her peers were knocked out.

And now, the 47-year-old 'Torn' songstress has opened up on her friendship with Davina to The Sun and what it was like to compete on The Masked Singer. Following her victory, Natalie has revealed that she 'wasn't expecting to win'.

The Australian singer said: "I think it’s wonderful that people are so invested in the person that they’re a fan of, or that they’re following, that they feel so strongly about it. But my experience being on the show was just such amazing camaraderie.

"It’s a fun family show. I don’t think it should be seriously competitive in that way. And I would hope that the overarching thing is that people just really enjoyed the fun that we all had on the show. Everybody’s a winner.”

Some fans were taken aback by Davina's surprised reaction to Natalie's unmasking, considering the pair have shared a close friendship for years. Natalie had been a common guess amongst viewers, so many were happy to be proved right.

Natalie, who is due to perform in Bristol this year, said: "Davina was DMing me [after the show] going, ‘Oh my God, I can’t believe that.'

"And we’re having this back-and-forth chat. She said, 'I don’t think it’s sunk into you that you’ve just won an eight week competition', and it’s true, I wasn’t expecting to win.

"I was convinced that Mushroom had won it so I was just as gobsmacked. But yeah, she was really funny and she was talking about the host [Joel Dommett] because he was quite freaked out that I’ve been hugging him all week.

“So that was quite funny.”

Natalie will be performing in Bristol later on this year. On October 10, in celebration of the 25th anniversary of her landmark album 'Left Of The Middle', Natalie will be coming to SWX. Tickets are on sale now.
