The gorgeous Lake District hotel two hours from Manchester which has gone viral on TikTok

Whether it’s a ruined castle surrounded by stunning gardens or a charming waterside village, the Lake District is full of hidden gems waiting to be discovered. With majestic fells and breath-taking lakes around every corner, you’re guaranteed to stumble across a picturesque spot.

One hotel in the Lake District has caught the attention of TikTok users thanks to its stunning location and stylish interiors. Haweswater Hotel is tucked away from the bustling tourist areas, offering guests a tranquil stay with amazing views of nearby Kidsty Pike.

In a video the hotel was described as the ‘best hotel in England’ and it’s easy to see why with nearly every window offering picture-postcard views. The hotel sits on the banks of Haweswater Reservoir and there’s not a single other building nearby, so it feels like the ultimate escape.

The Art-Deco hotel features a range of suites and rooms, each one decorated tastefully with an eclectic mix of modern and antique furniture. There’s also a couple of balcony suites which have access to their own terrace and Japanese plunge baths.

The hotel was built in 1937 as part of the Haweswater dam project and replaced the Old Dunn Bull Inn, which was flooded when the reservoir was created. The walls were made using local stone and Cumberland slate from old farm buildings in Mardale were used for the hotel’s roof.

Its location is ideal for hiking and cycling, with several walking routes on the doorstep of the hotel. The hotel is also perfectly situated for Wainwright’s Coast to Coast walk, while the pretty village of Askham is nearby. Haweswater Hotel also offers dog-friendly rooms and facilities including a bike storage room and maps for walks.

Haweswater Hotel is around two and a half hours from Manchester. For more details and how to book, visit their website here.
