'New phase' of vaccine rollout
The vaccine rollout in Ireland got a major boost last week as we gave more jabs in one day than we had on any previous 24-hour period.
As a result, around 15% of the adult population have now received at least one vaccine dose.
Last Thursday, 19,002 people received a dose of a Covid-19 vaccine - the highest total in one day so far.
That was followed up by another 17,845 on Friday, meaning that Ireland has now administered at least one dose to 15% of the adult population.
And it was this positivity which caused HSE CEO Paul Reid to tweet that the plan was heading for 'a new phase'.
5km travel limit set to be eased

Speaking frankly, one Minister told the Irish Mirror : “The 5km limit will be lifted because, let’s be honest, it’s easy to do because nobody was minding it anyway.”
When pressed he added that an extension to 10km would be “easily” passed at Cabinet.
