This winter drink is one I’ve tweaked for the list at Bellita, a new bar/restaurant in Bristol that’s already creating a buzz with its “shims”, or short drinks, list, named after that bit of wood or paper you use to prop up a wobbly table. This one is perfect for straightening out a shaky hand after a few days’ excess, so just the ticket for Boxing Day. Serves two.
40ml sweet vermouth
25ml Somerset cider brandy
12.5ml sloe gin
12.5ml Kahlua
Combine all the ingredients in a small jug or mixing glass, add ice and stir. Strain into two small chilled glasses, find a quiet room and sip.
