Have this for breakfast with a handful of almonds for an extra protein boost. You’ll be bouncing off the walls before you know it. It’s from my new book, Gizzi’s Healthy Appetite (Mitchell Beazley, £25). Serves two.
4 Granny Smith apples, juiced
5 pears, juiced
Juice of 1 lemon
1 kiwi fruit, peeled, chopped into chunks and frozen
1 avocado, peeled, stoned and chopped
1 tbsp pea or hemp protein (optional)
1 handful green kale, trimmed of its stems and chopped
1 good handful fresh mint leaves
1 good handful fresh parsley leaves
Put everything in a blender and blitz until smooth (the kale may take a while). Serve in tall glasses.
