Here’s a lovely drink to celebrate fig season, though make sure you make it with a properly ripe fruit. Per serving:
50ml bourbon or brandy
25ml lemon juice
25ml sugar syrup
1 ripe fig, cut in half
Muddle (that’s posh barkeep speak for bash) one half of the fig in a cocktail shaker, add the liquids, shake and strain into a rocks glass over ice cubes. Garnish with the remaining fig half and serve.
