Today’s the day, mates! The Golden Bachelor Australia premieres tonight and an avalanche of intel has been dropped ahead of the exciting event. The show’s host Samantha Armytage and leading lad Bear Myrden are currently on the promo trail, revealing what went on behind the scenes.
Appearing on Nova 96.9’s Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie, the duo — who have had to squash dating rumours several times — outed the ladies on the show for being wild party animals.
“We had to cut the ladies off,” Samantha revealed. “We had to say, ‘That’s the end of wine time girls… enough, go to bed’. These girls were party animals.”
Bear then added that the Bachie mansion received complaints from the neighbours at around 3am due to the excessive partying noise.

It sounds like it’s going to be one helluva season with some interesting characters, many of whom Bear had no qualms macking on with.
When asked how he felt about smooching on camera, he said he was “pretty comfortable with it”.
“Yeah I just blocked out the cameras,” he said. “I was in the moment.”
Sounds steamy…

As for Samantha, she denied chatter of one day becoming the female Golden Bachelor, telling the hosts she’s not quite “brave enough”.
During the morning radio run, they also stopped by to visit the shock jocks at The Kyle & Jackie O Show and naturally, things took an even spicier turn.
Jackie O asked the pair if the producers were worried about sparks flying between the leading lad and the host.
“Were the producers worried? They never said anything to me,” Sam replied. “I don’t think we could do, like, ‘Plot twist, Armytage runs off with Golden Bachelor’. It wouldn’t work very well.”
Bear described Sam as “a great mentor”, adding that “that’s about as far as it went”.
“As the hostess, I gave him advice because you know how I’m really good at love. I’ve got it all worked out. So, I just guided him through the process,” Sam added.
The hotly anticipated series (and I mean that literally, just LOOK at this man) kicks off tonight, here’s everything you need to know before it drops.
The Golden Bachelor debuts on Channel Nine and 9Now on Monday, October 20.
