Director Kip Williams unveils a story of Australian history, folklore and myth with Louis Nowra’s play, The Golden Age. Set in 1939, it tells the true story of a lost tribe of European outcasts who were discovered in the Tasmanian wilderness.
They’d escaped the torture of convict life, and lived alone for almost a century, having developed a culture and dialect of their own. First staged in 1985, the Australian classic makes its way back to the stage with an ensemble cast including Sarah Peirse (Switzerland), Ursula Yovich (Love and Information) and Brandon McClelland (The Present).
