Directed by Eamon Flack, the Helpmann award–winning production of The Glass Menagerie stars Pamela Rabe as the faded southern belle with delusions of grandeur.
In 1937, Tom Wingfield is stuck in a tiny, run-down apartment with his mother and his sister, the cripplingly shy Laura. All three need to break free from the past– perhaps Laura’s gentleman caller is the answer.
Flack deconstructs Tennessee Williams’s largely autobiographical memory play. Recollections from the Wingfield apartment are played out in real time, converted into moments from a lost black-and-white film, while Tom reimagines those he left behind.
