Tasteless? Shameless? Or, in the words of Rudy Giuliani's campaign, "unfortunate"? It seems a Giuliani supporter - not Giuliani's campaign itself - planned to hold a fundraising gig for the Republican candidate with an entry fee of $9.11 - a not so subtle nod to Giuliani's most famous day.
According to the invitation to the California event: "$9.11 for Rudy" is an "independent, non-denominational grass-roots campaign to raise $10,000 in small increments to show how many individual, everyday Americans support 'America's Mayor.'" Classy.
The Giuliani campaign has disavowed all knowledge, while the Democratic candidates have piled in with criticism.
