The Giants told fans to watch Daniel Jones’ combine workout. They said no.

The New York Giants stunned practically everyone watching the first round of the NFL Draft on Thursday by taking former Duke quarterback Daniel Jones with the No. 6 overall pick — especially considering former Ohio State quarterback and Heisman Trophy finalist Dwayne Haskins was still available.

Giants fans watching NFL Draft at MetLife Stadium hated this move, and the internet simply laughed at the franchise for the pick.

It’s not that Jones has a ton of red flags or that he isn’t a talented quarterback. He is, and For The Win’s Steven Ruiz wasn’t as harsh as some fans and gave the pick a C grade. But the Giants could have gotten him with the No. 17 pick, and even if they were set on taking a quarterback first, why pass on Haskins?

Like the team with its other first-round picks — Clemson defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence and Georgia cornerback Deandre Baker — the Giants shared Jones’ highlights and workout from the NFL combine and told fans to watch.

But they weren’t having any of it and roasted the team once again. Many of the Giants fans who decided to engage with the tweet commented by saying some version of no.
