The Gerald McCoy tour continues, now venturing outside the AFC North

The courtship of Gerald McCoy remains one of the hottest topics on the NFL OTA circuit. After his much-heralded meeting with the Cleveland Browns last Friday, McCoy took his talents to Baltimore to listen to the Ravens and what they had to offer.

Despite the best efforts of both the Browns and the Ravens to woo the 6-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle, McCoy remains unattached. Now he’s going to take a date with another suitor: the Carolina Panthers.

According to Joe Person of The Athletic, the Panthers are reportedly making a run at free agency’s biggest remaining prize.

“McCoy has already visited Cleveland and Baltimore, but left both teams without a contract. The Panthers are hoping they can get a deal done with McCoy, who would give them a proven interior pass rusher to pair with Kawaan Short.”

The Browns are not out of the running, but it’s clear McCoy wants to go on as many dates as he can before deciding who he will commit to for 2019 and (perhaps) beyond. Another AFC North team, the Cincinnati Bengals, has also been mentioned repeatedly as a destination for McCoy.
