The Gareth Bale pictures that paint 1,000 words as imminent Tottenham signing is all smiles on arrival in London

Gareth Bale has been pictured arriving at Tottenham Hotspur's training ground as he prepares to confirm a sensational return to the club.

Bale is set to put pen to paper on a season-long loan deal at the club he left seven years ago, in a move which has been greeted with jubilation from fans.

The 31-year old landed at Luton Airport on Friday, and was greeted by supporters as he arrived at the club's training ground alongside Real team-mate Sergio Reguilon, who is also set to sign on with the club as part of a £27m move.

Bale is unlikely to be available for selection for at least a month due to an ongoing knee issue and a lack of match fitness, but his arrival has nevertheless captured the imagination of fans, many of whom were pictured giving the player a warm reception as he drove into the club's Enfield base.

The formalities of the deal are believed to already have been completed, with Bale undergoing a medical in Spain before flying to London.

Bale was all smiles on arrival in London, which point to how he must be feeling at the prospect of joining a club where he could get regular football after being largely frozen out of first-team action in recent months in Spain.

All that's left is for the player to pen to paper on the move.

Bale will reportedly earn more than £13m in wages as part of the one-year deal negotiated by Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy, a cost which reportedly put off other admirers from making a move, including Manchester United.

He is expected to be unveiled as a Tottenham player imminently.
