'The game's boring. Watch me change it': Tim Anderson vows to keep shaking up baseball in a new ad campaign

CHICAGO _ White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson doubles down on his recent declaration that baseball is boring in a new ad for Adidas baseball.

The sportswear manufacturer clearly hopes to capitalize on the attention Anderson has received since his exuberant bat flip against the Royals last month, which resulted in a retaliatory plunking and subsequent benches-clearing incident.

In the wake of that incident, Anderson had defied the old-school, anti-fun crowd, telling reporters earlier this month that the game needs changing.

"Yeah, I think it does because the game is boring," he said. "A lot of fans don't watch, I admit. So you try and do something to make these fans and these kids want to come back to the ballpark.

"I'm going to do what it takes to draw these fans to the South Side. I'm going to do something different every day, whatever it is, no matter (what)."

Anderson echoes that in the Adidas video.

"I play with a lot of excitement, a lot of passion," he says in the spot. "You know, I have a lot of fun.

"We're going to keep stealing bases. We're going to keep creating moments that will be remembered. And we'll keep having fun."

The commercial ends, naturally, with Anderson flipping his bat.

"The game's boring," he says. "Watch me change it."
