The Game of Thrones stars that stay under the radar in Edinburgh flat

A Game of Thrones star has been able to hide from the public eye after purchasing an Edinburgh property shortly after tying the knot to a fellow actress in Scotland.

Famous couple Kit Harrington and Aberdeen-born Rose Leslie, famous for their roles in Game of Thrones, wedded in a beautiful ceremony in Scotland back in 2019.

Just six months later, they decided the romantic capital was a perfect place to put down roots, and purchased a flat in Edinburgh for a whopping £660,000.

The Scottish Sun revealed at the time that the tenement flat contained two bedrooms, a box room, sitting room, drawing room, kitchen and two bathrooms near the city centre.

A source said: “It’s in a beautiful location in a historic part of the city. It’s a compliment to the pulling power of the city that they are buying a place there.”

Places that were also on the couples radar at the time included a a £1.75million house in the English countryside, and a place in Manhattan, New York.

But ultimately, the pair settled on the little flat in the capital, to set up roots in Rose's home nation.

Aberdeen-born Leslie, 32, met Harrington, also 32, while they played Jon Snow and Ygritte in the worldwide TV smash in 2012.

The marriage took place in Rose's hometown of Aberdeenshire, at a church near Inverurie, and the couple threw their reception bash at the Leslie family’s 12th century Wardhill Castle.

Star guests included Game of Thrones co-stars Peter Dinklage — who had fans cheering outside the church — and Emilia Clarke, who plays the inevitable Daenerys Targaryen, mother of Dragons in Game of Thrones.
