The Game between Ohio State and Michigan has just hit a big milestone when it comes to Wolverine futility

Don’t look now, but it has now been 3,000 days since Michigan’s last win over Ohio State in football. That’s a long time — and in fact — it’s the longest streak in the history of The Game.

The date was November 26 when Michigan almost found a way to lose that one too despite being the prohibitive favorite. In fact, had Braxton Miller not missed a wide-open Devier Posey streaking down the sideline, we might be talking about sixteen straight wins for the Buckeyes over TTUN. Instead, Michigan held on to win 40-34 to then snap a seven-game skid then.

So yeah, it was indeed a long time ago. Here are some of the things that were happening in November of 2011 for context.

Does that take you down memory lane? You have to wonder when Michigan will breakthrough again. This year doesn’t look very good with Justin Fields returning to a talented Ohio State team that will be hosting the rivalry in Columbus. So maybe next year? The year after? Maybe next decade?

Either way, Michigan is going to get this thing turned around at some point, but for now Ohio State fans are loving every moment of having the upper hand in what may be the greatest rivalry in sports.

Did I mention that 3,000 days is an eternity in the sports world?
