'The future of Arsenal' - Gunners' fans love what Konstantinos Mavropanos did in training

Konstantinos Mavropanos has never had the chance to make his mark in an Arsenal shirt.

The 21-year-old arrived from his homeland of Greece in January 2018, but injury has seen him make just seven first team appearances in his 19 months at the club.

A groin injury plagued him throughout the 2018/19 season and a similar injury has disturbed his start to the current season. However, the defender could now be on the comeback trail, as he has returned to training and come through two U21 games, against Leicester City and Wolves, unscathed.

A return to first team action will now be the next step in the youngster's recovery, although he is yet to be included in any of Unai Emery's matchday squads.

Judging by a video put on Twitter by the player on Friday afternoon, he is doing himself no harm at breaking back into the squad by showing his skill in training.

The clip shows Mavropanos beating midfielder Mattero Gunedouzi before curling a shot into inside netting of the goal during a training game at London Colony.

The caption alongside the video reads "step by step."

The clip caught the imagination of onlooking Arsenal fans, who let the defender know what they thought of his future prospects at the club.

Although one fan was quick to remind the defender what his main job would be should he be selected by Emery in the coming weeks.

Arsenal host Bournemouth in the Premier League on Sunday, where Mavropanos will be hoping to get the taste of his first minutes of Premier League football this season.
