The Funniest College Football 26 Bugs and Glitches at Launch

College Football 26 is now out. And generally speaking, fans seem to be enjoying it. Sure, it hasn’t been smooth sailing with issues pertaining to desyncing in multiplayer and whatnot. But overall, it seems to be a worthy successor to the commercially successful and critically acclaimed College Football 25. But no game is perfect. And CFB 26 is no different.

In the spirit of fun, we’ve decided to sift through social media and find some of the funniest bugs and glitches that are currently in College Football 26 at launch. Mind you, this is not a condemnation of the game, nor is it supposed to reflect the overall quality of it — we’re just having a laugh!

Sneaky, Sneaky

First up is this absolute gem!

Originally posted by Twitter user @BBN9_, this bug shows a deep pass where the ball is caught before the opposing defender tackles the receiver. However, upon hitting the ground, the receiver isn’t registered as down by contact. Instead, the player lightly slides on the ground as if he were on ice until finally reaching the goal line. The official result of the play? Touchdown!

No idea what this virtual ref’s problem is, but if I were a virtual Kentucky fan, I’d be pretty peeved. This is obviously home cooking! Granted, it looks like South Carolina is getting smoked, so maybe they needed that call.

They All Scatter

I’ll be completely honest: I have no idea what’s happening in this clip. If I had to guess, there was some issue with the snap where the ball got loose, and the AI is now aimlessly chasing after it. But even so, why is the kick meter still moving?

Again, the chaos of this bug makes it hilarious. And holy balance, Batman — nobody is going down despite crashing into each other.

Unlimited Power

The general idea behind Dynasty Mode is that you create a coach and upgrade them over time to become better. But what if you could just skip past all of that and immediately load up with a beast coach who is the greatest thing since sliced bread?

Unfortunately, that is what’s happening with many who preordered the game.

Now, those who preordered College Football 26 were given some bonuses when it came to spec’ing out their Dynasty Mode coach in the beginning. However, some users have reported that the preorder bonuses have created an exploit where Dynasty Mode coaches have unlimited points. And not just for single-player, but also for multiplayer.

So, why is this funny? Well, imagine if a college football coach just walked onto the scene and immediately showed that they were incredible at everything. They’re gurus on both offense and defense, they recruit better than anyone, and always have the best game plan in the sport.

Maybe it doesn’t tickle you as it does me, but I got a pretty good chuckle out of it!

Relax, It’s Just Practice

Practice is kind of sacred in sports and not supposed to be for show. But, somebody didn’t tell Reddit user MercilessXFate.

In one of the more humorous glitches I could find, the user came across a glitch where, after every big play made in practice with Purdue, the screen would flash white as if it were a dramatic transition in a movie, then show either the mascot, cheer squad, or even fans celebrating.

When I first saw it, it literally elicited a belly laugh. Obviously, what is happening is that the game is simulating a broadcast package and a transition bumper. The problem is: It’s just practice.

On the unfunny side, however, it seems that this big can lead to crashes. So if you see it, enjoy it while you can. Because odds are that you’re about to be sent straight to the main menu very soon.
