The Full Monty cast strut their stuff outside Newcastle's Theatre Royal

Chills put paid to thrills for Newcastle shoppers as the cast of The Full Monty lined up to show off their moves in Grey Street.

Poor weather put paid to plans for Gary Lucy, James Redmond, Louis Emerick, Andrew Dunn, Joe Gill, and Kai Owen to shed their shirts before their debut 7.30pm show at Newcastle 's Theatre Royal .

The comedy drama, based on the hit film, tells the stories of six unemployed steelworkers with nothing to lose ... but their clothes! The story of these unlikely strippers ends with a famous naked finale and also hit the headlines when Prince Charles showed off (fully-clothed!) moves from the film in a Jobcentre queue.

Gary Lucy plays Gaz, the role played by Robert Carlyle in the film. Gary is well known for his four-year role as Danny Pennant in EastEnders and also played Luke Morgan in Hollyoaks. Brookside's Louis Emerick plays Horse.

Andrew Dunn who plays Gerald, was brought up in North Shields , and is known for Dinner Ladies, Coronation Street, 55 Degrees North and much more.

The music includes classic tracks like Hot Stuff, You Sexy Thing and You Can Leave Your Hat On.

Some tickets are still available for the run, which ends on Saturday. See  www.theatreroyal.co.uk  or call the box office on  08448 112121.
