The full canvas of colours

Make-up and art share similarities such as the use of brushes, colours and light-dark shading for a 3D effect. Make-up itself can be considered an art form, with the face as a living canvas for the application of primer, foundation, eyeshadow and blush.

This connection between art and make-up is often celebrated in limited editions released for the festive season.

Curated for the holiday 2017 collections, make-up palettes and kits come in attractive packaging inspired by Art Deco and works of Austrian symbolist painter Gustav Klimt and American pop artist Patrick Nagel.

Collaborations boast artwork by living artists, Kathe Fraga known for paintings evoking time-worn walls and murals, and Sisyu, who incorporates Japanese calligraphy into art forms such as paintings, sculptures and media arts.

Undoubtedly, the artsy limited editions will be on cosmetics junkies' Christmas wishlist.
