The frustrating Swansea City player ratings as duo silence critics but sloppy errors cost side dear against Fulham

How the Swansea City players fared in their 2-1 defeat to Fulham at the Liberty Stadium.

Freddie Woodman - has arguably been Swansea's player of the season. Had little to do other than pick the ball out of the net. Was helpless for goals, saved well from Ivan Cavaleiro in the second half. 6

Connor Roberts - the full-back had acres of space down the right-hand side and put in a number of testing crosses which didn't get their reward.  7

Mike van der Hoorn - this was the Dutchman's 66th consecutive league start and although Aleksandar Mitrovic was limited to crumbs, the Serb made Swansea pay in ruthless fashion. The centre-back will be frustrated, just like the rest. 6

Ben Wilmot - superb block to deny Mitrovic in the first half. Has really stepped up in Joe Rodon's absence. 6

Kyle Naughton - in at left-back for Jake Bidwell, he linked well with Kristoffer Peterson down the left flank. Had a curling shot well saved in the first half. 6

Jay Fulton - followed up his goal at the John Smith's Stadium with a steady if not spectacular display here. Tidy enough and put himself about a fair bit. 6

Matt Grimes - has struggled a tad in recent weeks but looked much brighter here, linking play in the way which we know he can. Flew into challenges and made light work of the physical aspect of the game. Lucky to get away with a mis-placed pass in second half. 7

Andre Ayew - tracked back, came deep to get the ball and was annoying the Fulham players like a wasp in a beer garden on a summer's evening. Another industrious display. 7

George Byers (star man) - in for the benched Bersant Celina, the Scotland youngster hit the post early on from range and another later in the first period. Seemed to enjoy the freedom of the No.10 role, which will give Steve Cooper food for thought. Deserved his goal and was another who improved vastly from Huddersfield outing. 7

Kristoffer Peterson - tested Marek Rodak in the first half with a well-struck shot from 20 yards. Worked hard, tracked back but did give away a few niggly fouls. Sloppy pass led to Mitrovic doubling the lead, which sees the winger docked a mark or two. 5

Sam Surridge - replaced Borja Baston in the starting XI here, who struggled for service against Huddersfield, and the on-loan Bournemouth man did well. Held the ball up effectively, but he'll be disappointed with gilt-edged chance in the first five minutes. Still, a positive performance. 7

Subs:

Barrie Mckay (for Peterson) - the lesser-spotted Scot got half an hour and laid on cross for Byers' goal. 6

Tom Carroll (for Fulton) - another who hasn't been seen much this season, had a wayward shot and looked OK. 5

Borja Baston (for Surridge) - little time to make impact. N/A
