Free parking at Asda's car park in Llanelli has been cut by one hour as the supermarket says people have been misusing it.
The supermarket store located in Murray Street in the town centre had previously offered shoppers three hours parking in but last week posters appeared around the site informing customers that it was being reduced to two.
The reason behind the cut is believed to be due to a number of users parking their cars there despite not using the store.
A number of initiatives have recently been introduced at car parks in Llanelli town centre including slashing prices at Murray Street multi-storey to £1 on Saturdays and free parking at council car parks between 10am and 4pm on Mondays and Tuesdays.
The schemes have been part of the council's bid to get more shoppers using the town centre which has been struggling in recent years.
But the site located just outside St Elli's Shopping Centre is currently the only car park in the town centre offering free parking daily.

Frequent shopper Linda Carraway, 62 said: "It's just a shame because it's the only place in town where there's free parking and it's the one that is the most accessible. I use it when I'm doing my weekly shop in Asda and then pop in to town to have a nose around for a couple of hours and three hours isn't enough."
"I hope it doesn't discourage people from using the town centre to shop, because that is the last thing Llanelli needs right now," added her friend 76-year-old Mair Davies.
A spokesperson for Asda said: "To ensure the customers of our Llanelli store can continue to use our car park to make their trip as convenient as possible, we have reduced the parking hours in the car park from three hours down to two."
