Freddie Ljungberg has moved to explain why he did not bring Nicolas Pepe on during Arsenal's 2-2 draw with Norwich City in the Premier League this afternoon (Sunday).
The Gunners' record signing was an unused substitute as Arsenal twice came from behind to draw at Carrow Road, with Ljungberg instead introducing young stars Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli in the second half of the game.
It was a decision that got some Arsenal fans talking, with the Gunners failing to win for a sixth Premier League game in a row.
But Ljungberg has explained his decision not to bring Pepe on, when asked about it after the game.
In reply, the Swede said: "[Nicolas] Pepe is a very good player but I try to go off what I see in training and what's being done everyday and that's how I judge."
Pepe has played 16 times for Arsenal so far this season, scoring three times for the Gunners since his £72million move from Lille in the summer.
However, he has only scored once in the Premier League, and has been in and out of the team.
But Ljungberg's comments have sparked a reaction from some Arsenal fans, with Pepe not featuring for the Gunners in the first game in the post-Emery era.
Here's what some fans have been saying on social media.
