The Frank Lampard England record that Harry Kane equalled in loss vs Czech Republic

England fell to a disappointing away defeat against the Czech Republic on Friday evening.

Goals from Jakub Brabec and Zdenek Ondrasek turned around the game against Gareth Southgate's side, drawing their team level with England at the top of Group A.

Things started well for England with Spurs striker and Three Lions captain Harry Kane opened the scoring from the penalty spot after Raheem Sterling was tripped in the opening minutes of the game. But it wasn't just giving Southgate's men the lead that scoring the spot kick achieved.

That penalty was Kane's 9th goal from the penalty spot in a Three Lions shirt, equalling the record set by now Chelsea manager Frank Lampard, who played his last England game in 2014.

Both Kane and Lampard have now taken the same amount of penalties, and have exactly the same record from the spot for the Three Lions, with both scoring 9 and missing a further two.

However, despite the positive start to the game, Czech Republic replied with two goals of their own to condemn England to a rare qualification defeat.

Wenger: Pochettino needs to show he can give more to Tottenham

Kane will be able to set a new record and overtake Lampard in the table should England be awarded a penalty in the second European qualifier of the week against Bulgaria on Monday evening.
