The FOUR TIMES Suella Braverman's aide denied she'd been done for speeding - transcript

Suella Braverman's team repeatedly denied she had been done for speeding when contacted by the Mirror six weeks ago.

The Home Secretary was fined and given points on her licence after she was caught driving too fast last summer.

But Mrs Braverman’s aide insisted this was not true when this newspaper enquired about the offence on April 4.

The Tory special adviser said the Home Secretary had not been done for speeding.

Instead the official suggested someone was spreading misinformation about her.

Mrs Braverman yesterday finally admitted she had been caught speeding as it was claimed she had asked civil servants to help her avoid a fine and points by arranging a private one-to-one driving awareness course.

Here is a transcript of the aide's four denials to the Mirror:

Mirror reporter : "So it’s completely untrue? She’s not been done for speeding, it’s completely wrong? Or it’s just the bit about the speed awareness course that is wrong?"

Braverman aide : "So what are you asking sorry?"

MR : "So she’s not been done for speeding?"

BA : "When has she been done for speeding? There’s nothing like that."

MR : "Pardon?"

BA : "When has she been done for speeding? It’s nothing like that."

MR : "There’s nothing like that?"

BA : "When has she been done for speeding?"

MR : "I don’t know the exact date."

BA : "Oh mate, this is just nonsense, honestly."

MR : "So you’re saying there’s absolutely nothing here at all?"

BA : "No."
