The four Man United players Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be without for Arsenal clash

Manchester United take on Arsenal at Old Trafford this weekend in the Premier League, with both sides harbouring aspirations of a top four finish.

Arsenal will be looking to bounce back after back-to-back defeats against Manchester City and Leicester, whilst United will want to inflict another damaging blow on Mikel Arteta's side.

Ahead of the game, both teams have midweek European fixtures to fulfil, with United hosting last season's Champions League semi-finalists RB Leipzig.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be boosted by the return of Anthony Martial for the game on Wednesday, with the Frenchman only suspended domestically - the Arsenal clash will be the last of his three-match ban.

Mason Greenwood and Edinson Cavani should also be in contention for Leipzig, after both coming off the bench against Chelsea at the weekend.

One player who will definitely miss both the Leipzig and Arsenal games however, is defender Eric Bailly, who will be out of action for up to a month with a muscle injury.

The United centre-back missed the Paris Saint-Germain win and had to watch his teammates from home, as United beat PSG 2-1 thanks to goals from Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford.

Solskjaer confirmed to Man Utd.com after the match that Bailly - who has suffered from a variety of injury problems during his time at United - will now be out of action until the November international break.

"Eric has a muscle injury, we think maybe three or four weeks, maybe after the international break he'll be back," Solskjaer said.

Another player who is definitely out for both games is Jesse Lingard, who is suffering from an unspecified problem.

"Jesse won't be available so we'll manage without [him] for a few weeks I think," Solskjaer said before the Chelsea game.

Phil Jones is also out, with the centre-back having been ruled out since the summer with a knee injury.

“Phil has been following an individualised training programme during the post-lockdown period to optimise recovery from a knee problem,” Solskjaer said in August.
