The four Liverpool players who will miss Tottenham clash as Jurgen Klopp confirms team news

On Thursday night Tottenham and Liverpool meet for the second time this season.

The two teams faced off in the Premier League as recently as last month, with the Reds coming out on top in a 2-1 win thanks to Roberto Firmino's goal in injury time.

However, the Reds' form has taken a turn for the worse since the game at Anfield.

Not only have Liverpool slipped off the top of the table, but their cloak of invincibility has also faded away after back-to-back defeats against Burnley and Manchester United.

Speaking of the Reds, manager Jurgen Klopp delivered some positive injury news during his pre-match press conference on Wednesday afternoon as he looks to guide his side to a first league win of 2021.

The good news is that captain Jordan Henderson and Joel Matip could both be available once again after missing the FA Cup fourth round loss against Man United.

"No new cases [injuries] and Hendo and Joel trained yesterday with the team fully," Klopp confirmed in his pre-match press conference. "Like always with these things we have to see how they react overnight and what they can do today, but they trained yesterday."

This means there are four senior Liverpool players who are set to miss the big game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Two of which are long-term injury casualties Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk

Meanwhile, according to Premier Injuries, midfielder Naby Keita will play no part in north London.

Furthermore, forward Diogo Jota remains on the sidelines with a knee injury he sustained during Liverpool's 1-1 draw against FC Midtjylland in the Champions League last month.

That caused the 24-year-old to miss the reverse meeting against Spurs, with Klopp confirming at the time that his summer signing would be out of action for at least two months.

"It's worse than we first thought but better than what we (later) thought. The potential surgeons had a look at it and no surgery is needed, but he will be out for a while," Klopp told Sky Sports.

"We don't know exactly, but we think one and a half, two months.

"In the end it was strange, but we were happy when we heard the final diagnosis."
