The four changes to the Newcastle team you would like Steve Bruce to make against Bournemouth

Newcastle United continue their Premier League return this evening when they take on Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.

The Magpies had been out of action for over three months after English football was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic but returned in style last Sunday as they beat Sheffield United 3-0.

Newcastle followed that up with a 1-1 draw at home to Aston Villa last Wednesday but their FA Cup hopes were ended on Sunday as they were beaten 2-0 by Manchester City in the quarter-finals.

Nonetheless, they will hope to extend their unbeaten return to the Premier League when they take on the Cherries away from home.

Eddie Howe's side are embroiled in a relegation battle and are in desperate need of three points that will lift them out of the bottom three.

Bournemouth have been beaten 2-0 by Crystal Palace and 1-0 by Wolves since the Premier League's return and quickly need to arrest their poor form if they are to avoid relegation to the Championship.

Newcastle boss Steve Bruce is keen for his side to end the season strongly and finish the campaign in the top half of the Premier League table.

However, he will be without Ciaran Clark and Florian Lejeune through injury while both Matt Ritchie and Allan Saint-Maximin will be assessed prior to kick-off.

The decision Bruce has to make is whether he rotates his side again or sticks with the nucleus of the side who were beaten by Manchester City on Sunday.

According to the results of our Chronicle Live team selector, you would like to see Newcastle switch to a 4-4-2 formation and make four changes to the side who started on Sunday.

You would like to see Martin Dubravka replace Karl Darlow in goal, and he will be fronted by a back four of Javi Manquillo, Jamaal Lascelles, Federico Fernandez and Danny Rose.

Jonjo Shelvey would return to the side in place of Sean Longstaff in midfield alongside Isaac Hayden. Ritchie would come back into the side on the right-wing and Saint-Maximin would start on the left flank.

Fabian Schar and Miguel Almiron would drop out of the side and Dwight Gayle would partner Andy Carroll up front in a 4-4-2 formation.
