The four Birmingham City players who will miss Championship clash vs Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest are in Championship action this afternoon as they take on Birmingham City at the City Ground.

The Reds will be looking to go a third game unbeaten after beating Sheffield Wednesday and playing out a 1-1 draw with Millwall in their last two games.

Ahead of the match, Birmingham City have confirmed that they will be without four players for the clash.

Young goalkeeper Zach Jeacock, midfielder Caolan Boyd-Munce, full-back George Friend and midfielder Josh McEachran will all be missing through different injuries.

Just three positions separate Forest and Birmingham in the Championship table, with the Reds in 20th position and Blues in 17th.

Aitor Karanka’s men have lost their last three games, including falling to a 4-1 home defeat against Middlesbrough in their last outing.

It is hoped that defender Scott McKenna will be back fit for Forest after missing the last four games with an ankle injury.

While Fouad Bachirou, Luke Freeman and Jack Colback are all expected to miss the game through injury.

Forest were in training on Christmas day ahead of the Boxing Day clash.

"This is a week we've been looking forward to. We'll train on Christmas Day,” Hughton said.

"Just to have a week to work with the players and get our messages over, plus for the players to have a bit of downtime, it's something we've been looking forward to.

"The players had a couple of days off so we'll work through to the Birmingham game."
