Forth Bridge signalling fault causes misery for passengers as trains are cancelled this morning

Passengers using the Fife line heading to and from Edinburgh are facing long delays this morning with trains cancelled due to a signalling fault on The Forth Bridge.

At around 6am ScotRail announced that they were dealing with a signalling fault on The Forth Bridge but had initially said it would only affect services heading North - and not services towards Edinburgh.

However ScotRail have now said services in both directions across the Forth Bridge are disrupted, causing misery for commuter with peak time services cancelled.

Disruption is expected until at least 9am this morning while engineers work to fix the problem.

ScotRail say they are working to put replacement transport in place, with 6 buses requested for both Edinburgh Park & Inverkeithing but "these haven’t been confirmed".
