James Milner has named his best XI of players he's played with after an impressive career to date for the likes of Leeds United, Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Manchester City and Liverpool.
Milner signed a new deal until the summer of 2022 last week and now he has hit the headlines following an interview for FourFourTwo.
The 33-year-old started out his career at Leeds and eventually left for Newcastle United in 2004.
He joined Aston Villa permanently in 2008 following a loan deal, before a five-year stint at City, while the midfielder has now played for Liverpool during the last four years.
The former England international, therefore, has played with an array of top talent throughout his career to date and there is no wonder some quality names appear in his best XI list.
Liverpool wise four current players have been named in Alisson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Roberto Firmino, while former club captain Steven Gerrard is also included.
Sergio Aguero and David Silva feature from his time with City and so does Chelsea legend and former England star Frank Lampard, who spent the 2014/15 campaign at the Etihad Stadium and also played with Milner at national level.
But perhaps the biggest shock is Jonathan Woodgate's inclusion over former City captain Vincent Kompany. See below for more.
Milner's best XI of players played with
Goalkeeper: Alisson Becker
Defence: Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jonathan Woodgate, Virgil van Dijk, Ashley Cole.
Midfield: David Silva, Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard.
Attack: Roberto Firmino, Alan Shearer, Sergio Aguero.
