The former Cardiff City striker tearing it up in France who is now on West Brom and Sheffield United's radar

Former Cardiff City striker Rhys Healey is reportedly being lined up for a return to English football.

According to TeamTalk, Premier League duo Sheffield United and West Bromwich Albion are among five clubs to have taken an interest in the 26-year-old, who's been in superb form for French second tier outfit Toulouse this season.

Healey has netted seven goals in 13 games in Ligue 2, and his showings have clearly not gone unnoticed.

As well as interest from the struggling Premier League duo, both of whom are perhaps already preparing for a possible return to the second tier, several big-name Championship sides are also believed to be interested.

Leaders Norwich City have been mentioned, along with Bournemouth and Middlesbrough, the latter of whom are of course under the guidance of the player's former boss at Cardiff, Neil Warnock.

Healey was once regarded as one of the brightest young prospects at the Bluebirds after joining from Welsh Premier League outfit Connah's Quay Nomads in 2013.

However, following a series of loan spells, the forward struggled to make a meaningful breakthrough in the capital, and was subsequently sold to Milton Keynes Dons for an undisclosed fee back in 2019, joining Toulouse nearly a year later.

Now, it appears he's won fresh admirers back in the UK, although prising him away from France may not be easy.

The player is believed to rated at around £5m by Toulouse, and currently has more than two years remaining on his current deal at the club.

Given the club is currently well in the mix for promotion to Ligue 1, where Healey could well end up mixing it up with the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Neymar and Dimitri Payet, there is clearly no rush to sell the player, who recently won Ligue 2's Player of the Month award for December 2020.
