The Flaming Lips, Melbourne

American psychedelic rock band The Flaming Lips will belt out their space-rock anthems, including She Don’t Use Jelly, Do You Realize, and many more in Melbourne.

Formed in 1983 by Wayne Coyne, his brother Mark and bass guitarist Michael Ivins, The Flaming Lips’ signature sound throws back to the psychedelia subculture of the 60s and 70s.

Coyne’s sci-fi inspired lyrics and fascination with space opera has resulted in outer-space themed live shows (most recently with Miley Cyrus). They also broke the Guinness World Record for the most live concerts in 24 hours – when they performed eight, all live-streamed.
