The five strategic themes Kyril Louis-Dreyfus wants to install at Sunderland

Sunderland owner Kyril Louis-Dreyfus has revealed the five strategic themes that he wants to place at the heart of the club's values moving forward.

The 23-year-old met with Sunderland fan groups on a video call and discussed a variety of topics.

The Swiss-French Billionaire wants to establish a "high-performance culture" across the club.

He also wants to developing a football philosophy based upon Sunderland’ s values and identity.

Louis-Dreyfus also wants to create opportunity for young players through a holistic development programme and use evidence-based decision making embracing data and technology.

The final strategic theme is to do so "aligned and engaged with communities, supporters and businesses".

Supporters can take a lot of positives away from said themes after public criticism of the club in recent years.

The early emphasis on an academy restructure in an attempt to create better pathways to the first-team, is a prime example of a plan being put into action.

The appointment of Kristjaan Speakman, who has a wealth of knowledge of a successful academy set-up from his time at Birmingham City, got the ball rolling.

It's a clear sign that the new regime recognises that the club has lost emerging talents to rivals in recent seasons.

The appointment of Lee Johnson has taken a step towards changing the club's culture and his focus on data driven aspects of his Sunderland side coincides with the new owner's plan for the club.

It's been so far, so good for Louis-Dreyfus after they ended their Wembley hoodoo and came away from the home of English football with the EFL Trophy in tow.
